Setting the path for your investment success
Did you know there’s an easy way to ensure you’re always making the best investment decisions with the information you have available?
It starts with creating an investment policy statement (IPS).
An IPS is a document that specifies your goals as an investor and establishes a set of investing criteria and guidelines to achieve them. By establishing a written plan, following it responsibly, and updating it when necessary, you will enhance your investing success.
The role of your financial advisor is to work collaboratively with you to create a tailored, well-thought-out IPS, and then to adhere to it faithfully when providing advice and services.
Investor profile questionnaire
The first step in creating an IPS is to identify who you are as an investor. This involves filling out an Investor Profile Questionnaire (ISP), which will help us establish your financial situation, investment goals, how long you plan to invest and how much market volatility you’re willing to accept.
Note that an IPS can be as detailed or as simple and general as you desire. There are no hard and fast rules. It’s whatever works for you.
